Warwickshire Scout Lodge No. 9648

Geoff was initiated into our sponsoring Lodge, the Lodge of Impartiality No 5101 in Warwickshire in 1982.
He had formerly been heavily involved in the Scout movement for many years.
He joined the 64th Birmingham (formerly “Elmwood”) Scout Cub Pack in 1955, then went through Scouts, Senior Scouts and Rover Scouts. Once a Rover he took his first Warrant as Assistant Scout Leader at the 64th.
A few years later he became the Scout Leader of the 106th Birmingham (1st Lozells,
Aston Villa) Troop where his father-
In 1970 he married Yvonne who has been very supportive of Geoff throughout his Scouting and Masonic activities. They have two girls Sally who has two sons and Jane who has a daughter. Both Sally and Jane have also been very supportive too.
He was the founding committee Chairman of the Warwickshire Scout Lodge and the first Director of Ceremonies; an office he loves as he was honoured to be appointed as a Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1996.
In 2001 he was further honoured to be promoted to the office of Provincial Grand Sword Bearer. Standing at 6ft.4in., the Provincial Grand Master was heard to say that he was only too pleased to have someone the size of Geoff in front of him when processing at official functions.
During his year he carried out all three ceremonies culminating with the Induction of his Senior Warden in April 2004.
In 2008 he was promoted to P.Prov. Junior Grand Warden.
